Nature: She is extremely gentle, curious, and affectionate. She loves sweets and whenever someone comes into the field she walks up to them hoping that they have a sweet in hand for her. Her only son Veda died. She was a very good mother to him, never leaving his side, and he was very attached to her.

Nature: Her nature was extremely shy as a young calf and not until she was 6 months old did she become comfortable with people. She is partially trained in voice commands and now you can walk up to her and give her a big hug. Intelligent and tough, she likes hanging out with the big boys and will stand her ground if picked on. She has an extremely white face and it appears that she applied eye shadow on each day.

Shyama has passed away

Herd Status: Matron
Nature: Shyama is an older Holstein
cow from the big New Vrindavan herd. In September 2003 she appeared in the
pasture and adopted our herd and farm as her new home. When a new cow
shows up on the farm the general practice is to check the fences for
holes. In her case there were no holes found to be fixed. She is a
wondering mendicant who is honest and gentle in nature and has graced our farm
with her presence. She is very affectionate and respected by all the
other members of the herd. She would very much like to be adopted.

Jaya has passsed away

Breed: Holstein & Simmental
Herd Status: Elder and Retired
Nature: In his appearance he looks more like his Holstein mother. He is very big but is very gentle and friendly. Nanda was Jaya's partner. Like Nanda, Jaya has a pinched nerve/disk problem in his back and this has put him in the retired status in the herd. He is also a cancer survivor after having a cancer growth removed from behind his eye. His eye had to be removed also to remove the large growth behind it. Regardless, he is very healthy now and moves all over the farm with no difficulty. Jaya is a big teddy bear in a cow's body looking for an adopter.

Herd Status: Mid-management
Nature: She is friendly and gentle and a friend to everyone in the herd. If there is any trouble with any of the cows she will bellow very loudly so that we know. With a long narrow face, she is a classic beauty. She is never one to make trouble and always carries herself with dignity. Ujala appreciates when company comes to the field to visit her and the other cows.
